Voter registration deadline for Nov. 3 election is Oct. 5

Time is running out if you aren’t yet registered to vote for the Nov. 3 general election. The last day to register to vote is Monday, Oct. 5. Voter registration applications are available online on the Texas Secretary of State’s website, or from Ochiltree County Clerk Cassi Laxton’s office.

Candidate forum planned

The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce’s legislative affairs council has scheduled a candidate forum featuring those running in the Nov. 3 general election. The event is slated for Monday, Oct. 19, at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus.

Vehicle vandalism is investigated

Very few offenses were reported to police during the week. Perla Gonzalez reported her vehicle had been keyed while it was parked at the post office. Tammy Overton reported a license plate on her vehicle was missing or stolen.

HEALTH AND SAFETY DONATION—Perryton High School received a donation of free health and safety kits last week from Perryton’s Jones True Value and the True Value Foundation. The kits included hand sanitizer, KN-95 masks, hand soap, and other essential cleaning products.

Rifle and Pistol Club to meet The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building. Members will discuss upcoming matches and events, as well as changes due to virus restrictions.
