FOOTBALL IS COMING

Perryton High School football players and coaches began two-a-day workouts last week at Ranger Field. Perryton’s first games will hit later in August, with a scrimmage against Hereford on Aug. 21, ninth grade and junior varsity games in Dalhart on Aug. 27, and the varsity’s first game against Dalhart here on Aug. 28.

FUTURE HOOP STARS

Students from Perryton and the surrounding area participated in the Breakthrough Basketball camp last week at the Perryton Activity Center. The camp, now in its third year in Perryton, focuses on basketball fundamentals and positive coaching, as kids of all ages were drilled on all elements of the game.

LIGHT ON THEIR FEET

LIGHT ON THEIR FEET—Perryton High School athletes were back on the practice fields this week. Though there will be little opportunity to practice specific sports, thanks to UIL regulations, PHS coaches wanted to give students a chance to stay in playing shape with a variety of conditioning drills, including agility exercises.

The Ranger golf team carried their bags for a 36-hole event in Amarillo last weekend. The first 18 holes were played Friday at the Amarillo Country Club.
