Commissioners decommission old jail building

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met for their regular meeting on Monday morning at the County Courthouse. The commissioners approved the decommissioning of the old Ochiltree County Jail at 21 SE Sixth Avenue.

Perryton’s Snack Pak 4 Kids has begun meeting again to pack snacks for hungry kids. About 30 Snack Pak volunteers gathered Monday evening at Williams Intermediate School to pack snack bags with nutritious food to help food-insecure students stave off hunger.

County back over 20 active cases

After over a month of reduced cases, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Ochiltree County has gone back up over 20. The county’s active cases have risen from 16 on Tuesday afternoon to 21 as of Thursday afternoon, while the total cases have gone from 127 on Tuesday to 133 on Thursday.
