County’s COVID-19 cases nudge upwards

Ochiltree County’s COVID-19 cases are still on the rise, but at a slower rate than in previous weeks. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there have been an overall total of 266 COVID-19 cases, up from 255 last Friday evening and 203 on Wednesday afternoon.

United Way drive tops 37% of goal

The Ochiltree United Way 2021 fund drive, now in its second week, has reached 37% of its $90,000 goal. As of Friday, the campaign had received $33,030 in donations. Two new 100% Companies were also added, bringing the total to four. New on the list are Perryton National Bank and Perryton Realty.

Ochiltree County’s COVID-19 cases are rising at a rapid and alarming rate. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there have been an overall total of 255 COVID-19 cases, up from 203 on Wednesday afternoon, and 169 last Friday evening.

The Perryton Rangers were firing on all cylinders Friday night at Ranger Field, came away with a big 34-7 win over the Levelland Lobos in their district opener. The Rangers dominated playing time, and racked up 318 total yards to Levelland’s 96.

USDA announces deadline for WHIP+ disaster program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced Friday, Oct. 30, as the deadline to submit applications for the Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program – Plus (WHIP+) for 2018 and 2019 losses. USDA did not originally specify a deadline when the program was announced.
