The 84th annual Ochiltree County Junior Livestock Show and Sale is set to kick off next weekend, Jan. 21-22, with preliminary activities beginning during th emiddle of the week. The Perryton High School FFA and the Ochiltree County 4-H members will be showing 152 animals.

AgriLife Extension Master Marketer program scheduled

A Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Master Marketer program returns to Amarillo in 2022 with in-person and virtual attendance options. The program will be from Jan. 25-March 10 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at 6500 Amarillo Blvd. W.

United Way drive goes over the top

The Ochiltree United Way’s 2022 campaign had very good news last week, the drive has not only met its goal, but exceeded it by almost $17,000. The drive has raised $108,868, which is 118% of its $92,000 goal.

Students at Perryton Independent School District haven’t been able to go outside for recess late this week, due to the extremely frigid weather in Ochiltree County. So school staff have had to come up with replacement activities to make sure kids still get a break during the school day.

Betsy Allen-Manning will be the next speaker in the Leadership Perryton XX series. She will be Perryton on Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration begins at 6 p.m., with the seminar starting at 6:30 p.m.
