PHS Choir students advance to state

Choir students at Perryton High School competed in the UIL District Vocal Solo/ Ensemble Contest on Saturday, Feb. 26, in Canyon.

Rette golfers hit the links

Athlete numbers are low for the PHS golf teams this year but that did not stop two Rangerette golfers from hitting the links. Coach Josh King leads the program again this season.

On March 2, 2022, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: Wesley Snow, white male. No personal information was available. Last known address was Borger. There is one misdemeanor warrant for Snow for issuance of bad checks.

Shawn Bogard is a joy to be around. Every community needs at least one clone of her. She works very hard behind the scenes to make everyone’s life better. Though she never asks for or expects accolades, she deserves a mountain of gold and recognition.

MASSAGE CHAIR WINNER

MASSAGE CHAIR WINNER—The winner of the raffle for the Sol massage chair at this year’s Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on Thursday, Feb. 17, was Marci Kirklin. The massage chair was donated by Perryton Furniture and Window Fashions.

Few offenses reported

Criminal activity was very sparse during the week. Budge Rawlins reported a vehicle stolen. It was later recovered in Borger. There is a suspect in the case.

POSTER RUNNERS-UP

POSTER RUNNERS-UP—Students at Williams Intermediate were named to the honorable mention list in a poster contest to commemorate the 44th Texas Conservation Awards Program with the theme “Healthy Soils: Healthy Life.”

American Legion to hold monthly meeting The American Legion Post 254 will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, March. 7, at the Senior Citizens Center. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting itself will begin at 7 p.m. All veterans are welcome to attend.

NRCS, Ochiltree SWCD set annual Local Work Group meeting for March 10

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Ochiltree County Soil and Water Conservation are seeking input from the public on how to best serve local citizens through Farm Bill conservation programs and technical assistance.
