Fourth and fifth grade students at Williams Intermediate Elementary School participated in the school’s annual spelling bee last Friday afternoon.

Another new COVID-19 death reported in county

One new fatality from the COVID-19 virus has been reported this week in Ochiltree County, bringing the county’s total to 43 deaths. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the newest fatality occurred around the date of Jan. 24.

PHS Counselor’s Honor Roll

Perryton High School has named the students making the honor roll for the third six weeks.

Senior Center sets Valentines dinner The Ochiltree County Senior Citizens Association will hold their Valentines Steak Dinner on Monday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center. The menu will consist of a 10-oz. New York strip steak, baked potato, and salad.

FINANCIAL KNOW-HOW

Perryton High School students attended guest lectures on Friday with Miles Seybert, a PHS graduate and current vice president at First United Bank in Lubbock. Seybert had been invited back to PHS by government and history teacher Drew Foster to talk to students about financial literacy.
