Commissioners approve sheriff’s office agreements

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. The commissioners formally approved a pair of agreements with the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Office, one concerning law enforcement academies and the other involving sign-on bonuses for new officers.

COVID cases down slightly

Active cases of COVID-19 are down slightly from last week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 dropped to 67, down from 68 on Thursday afternoon.

Perryton High School choir student Tiana Hill was named to the Texas All State Small School Choir last Saturday at Midland Legacy High School in Midland. Hill, a sophomore and alto, placed third chair out of 24 altos following the singing and sight-reading rounds of the competition.
