PHS ART STUDENTS WIN IN WOODWARD—Perryton High School art students participated in the Paul Laune Memorial Student Art Competition at the Plains Indians and Pioneers Museum in Woodward, OK, in January, with fi ve students earning awards. The juried show exhibited 32 artworks from PHS students.

UIL realignment announced Feb. 3

The UIL released the new district realignments for 2022-24 on Thursday. While Ranger football fans will see a little travel relief, fans in all other sports saw their district increase by two schools. For football only, District 2, 4A, Division 2, Perryton, Borger, Levelland and Seminole remain.

No new candidates file for May election

No new candidates have filed in over a week for positions up for election in the May 7 general election. There are two weeks left in the candidate filing period, which ends on Friday, Feb. 18.

Plenty of area residents took the opportunity to play in the snow that blanketed us this week, despite frigid temperatures with wind chills near zero. Rylan, Cade & Kyler Cowan met up with Carson and Macee Haberthur to go sliding around on an old car hood.

OGH records 50 positive COVID cases

Ochiltree General Hospital announced on Wednesday that they had recorded over 50 positive cases of COVID-19 in the last week. According to Chief Nursing Officer Jyme Kinnard, RN, OGH completed 101 total COVID-19 tests in the last seven days, with 51 of those tests turning out positive.
