22nd Wheatheart Rodeo planned for Aug. 14-15

The Perryton Rodeo Association will host the 22nd Annual Wheatheart Rodeo on Friday, Aug. 14, and Saturday, Aug. 15. Each performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Ochiltree County Arena. Mutton bustin’ will be at 7 p.m. for children under seven years of age and under 50 pounds.

School board previews 2020-21 revenue projections

The Perryton School Board heard revenue projections for the 2020-21 school year at a special meeting Tuesday evening. Chief Financial Officer Doug Kile went over the revenue with the board. He said the proposed budget will be down around $1 million from the current budget, to $21.5 million.

County COVID-19 cases hit 26; mask order in effect

According to the State of Texas, Ochiltree County’s official count of total COVID-19 cases has risen from 78 late last week to 86 as of late Tuesday afternoon, while the number of active cases have gone up from 18 to 24.

City council reviews proposed budget, tax rate
