Pathways program marks record number of students

The Pathways scholarship program is making an impact on the local community as well as outlying areas. A record number of students have completed the Pathways program and are currently enrolled in Frank Phillips College classes.

Pistol Club sets silhouette match The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly Silhouette Indoor Match on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Building.

General election is Tuesday

Voters will go to the polls this Tuesday, Nov. 3, to decide several national, state and local races. The early voting period ended on Friday. Some 2,046 people cast early ballots this year, compared to 1,692 in the last election. That includes 181 out of 197 mail ballots retuned.

United Way drive tops 50%

The Ochiltree United Way 2021 fund drive surpassed the halfway mark at the end of last week. By Friday, the campaign had raised $50,169, which is 56% of the $90,000 goal.

Rhett Laubach of Edmond, OK is returning to the Leadership Perryton. His motivating session, "Cheetah Leaders," will be at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus on Nov. 5. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. and the seminar will start at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend.

Rangers take big 28-14 win over Seminole

The Rangers got down to business Friday night, shutting down Seminole's running game and limiting their passing efforts, on their way to a 28-14 victory over the Indians in a homecoming game at Ranger Field. Perryton scored in every quarter, one of those touchdowns a result of a Seminole turnover.

Ochiltree County's COVID cases are falling, slowly

Ochiltree County's CO­ VID-19 cases have begun to fall, though not as quickly as everyone would like. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there have been an overall total of 310 COVID-19 cases, up from 297 last Friday evening.
