American Legion hosting speech contest American Legion Post 254 will host a speech contest at Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. The topic of the contest will be one of four topics about the United States Constitution.

COAT DELIVERY AT WILLIAMS

Staff from FirstBank Southwest dropped off a few stacks of coats at Williams Intermediate on Wednesday morning as part of its annual Coats and Shoes for Kids drive. The bank will continue taking donations through Dec. 18 and throughout the year.

County canvasses election results

The Ochiltree County CommissionersÕ Court me Thursday to canvass the Nov. 3 general election results. County Clerk Cassi Laxton shared some election statistics from this year, comparing them favorably to the 2016 general election.

PCC begins legal services program

The Panhandle Crisis Center has begun a new legal services program for victims of domestic violence. The new services are designated primarily to fund legal representation to assist victims in obtaining protective orders, divorces, child custody, and child support.
