The Panhandle Professional Women has begun its annual Project Christmas Card scholarship drive. Donation boxes have been placed at several locations around town, complete with envelopes, for local residents to contribute to the fund.
GIVING TREE AT CITY HALL The City of Perryton has set up their Giving Tree in City Hall to assist local senior citizens who have difficulty paying their winter heating bills. Anyone can make anonymous donations to help pay utility bills for area seniors. Pictured with the tree are city employees Sandra Sosa, Laura Rivera, and Patty Martinez.

The City of Perryton set up their “Giving Tree” again to help local senior citizens who have difficulty paying their winter heating bills. The city’s Giving Tree has become a local tradition for this time of year.

United Way reaches 84% mark

The Ochiltree United Way’s 2021 fund drive edged closer to the $90,000 goal last week. The drive has raised $75,310 so far, which is 84% of the goal. Two new 100% Companies, meaning every employee contributed to the campaign, were also added, Douglas Kile PC, CPA and Window Fashions, Etc.

It was another quiet week for local law enforcement, with few offenses reported. Maria Hernandez, 2221 Jackson Drive, reported that the back window of her vehicle had been broken out. It was unknown what caused the damage.
