Texans urged to roll up their sleeves

Gov. Greg Abbott and other Texas leaders are rolling up their sleeves to get the COVID-19 vaccine and to encourage the public to follow suit. “I will never ask any Texan to do something that I’m not willing to do myself,” Abbott said before getting vaccinated at a televised event in Austin.

Trailer damage reported

Very little criminal activity was reported, as has been the case for the last few weeks. Melissa Windom reported a trailer parked on East Santa Fe had been damaged, and in the process hit a city water meter.

Texas Capitol to reopen on January 4

Businesses, organizations set New Year’s closings

The end of 2020 is almost upon us, and many Perryton businesses, organizations, and governmental offices will be closed to let their employees celebrate the New Year’s holiday. Frank Phillips College Allen Campus is closed for their holiday break and will remain closed until Jan. 6, 2021.

County deputies pursue motorcyclist

Deputies from the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department pursued a fugitive into Hansford County on Sunday.

CONCRETE PROGRESS

Construction crews working on the new cosmetology annex at Frank Phillips College Allen Campus, have been making steady progress on the new facility this month. The old Kent Kwik building across the street from the college is being renovated to serve as the new facility.
