Commissioners approve extension of medical leave act

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court discussed the medial leave act, and recognized employees’ service at its meeting Monday morning in the Ochiltree County Courthouse.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA

The Wreaths Across America event was held for the fifth year at Ochiltree Cemetery on Saturday morning, Dec. 19. The event was sponsored by the Wolf Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Area businesses and offices set holiday hours

Christmas is only days away, and many businesses, organizations, and governmental offices are planning their days off for the holiday season. Frank Phillips College Allen Campus is closed for their holiday break and will remain closed until Jan. 6, 2021.

United Way hits 90%

The farm and ranch division has raised $6,720, or 75%, toward its $9,000 goal. The professional division has raised $19,194 so far, which is 73% of its $26,000 goal. There were no new 100% Companies added.

COVID-19 cases fall again

Ochiltree County’s active COVID-19 cases took a pre-Christmas slide in the latest numbers from the state. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 stand at 159, down from 207 last Thursday afternoon.

OGH board focuses on several financial matters

The Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors met via video conference on Monday night. Much of the meeting was focused on financial concerns, chiefly a large payment coming due to the Ranger Roundup Learning Center child care program.

LIGHTING UP CHRISTMAS

Lots of families decorated their homes for Christmas to drive away the bleak midwinter with gorgeous light, but few created a scene as bright and beautiful as this. Brad and Sharla Kile at 2001 21st Street got their house and trees blazing with colorful lights that lit up the entire street.
