Comptroller’s office extends franchise tax deadline to June 15

In response to the recent winter storm and power outages in the state, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced that his agency is automatically extending the due date for 2021 franchise tax reports from May 15 to June 15.

March 15 is deadline for producers to enroll in ARC, PLC programs

Agricultural producers can now make elections and enroll in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2021 crop year. Enrollment for the 2021 crop year closes March 15, 2021.

Breaking infertility cycle: Sheep could show the way

A Texas A&M AgriLife study with sheep may soon help address fertility problems in women, if it can discover ways to break the chain of generational transfer of polycystic ovary syndrome, PCOS — one of the most common infertility disorders.

Commissioners hire concessionaire

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court held a special meeting on Friday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. The commissioners approved the hiring of Kathie Dunnam as the new concessionaire at Lake Fryer and Wolf Creek Park.
