Fabela, Marquez are Students of Month

The Perryton Rotary Club selected Perryton High School seniors Andrea Fabela and Hector Marquez as its February Students of the Month. They were introduced at the club’s meeting Feb. 4. Fabela is the daughter of Carla Villagran and Jesus Fabela.

United Way drive tops $90,000 goal

Additional contributions over the past week helped push the Ochiltree United Way’s 2021 fund drive over the top. The drive has exceeded its $90,000 goal by almost $4,000, raising $93,924 so far, or 105%.

Gilliland returns as Leadership Perryton speaker

Steve Gilliland of Mocksville, NC is returning to Leadership Perryton this Thursday, Feb. 11. He will present a thought provoking and motivating session, “Emerge” at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration starts at 6 p.m., with the seminar beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Frank Phillips College Allen Campus advisory board met for its quarterly meeting on Thursday. The board is comprised of community members who volunteer to provide input from Perryton and Ochiltree County residents.

Work crews from the City of Perryton were hard at work late last week on sewer line repairs near the corner of Ninth Street and Grinnell. An obstruction was found in a sewer line, requiring workers to dig down 10 feet below street level to get the lines cleared and repaired again.
