Members of Perryton’s Jennie Junes Club got together earlier this week to set up the bi-annual book sale at Perry Memorial Library. The sale will continue through the end of April. Paperbacks will be sold for a quarter each, and hardbacks will cost just 50 cents.

NRCS, OSWCD plan working group meeting

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Ochiltree County and the Ochiltree Soil and Water Conservation District invite the public to attend their FY22 Local Working Group (LWG) meeting on Thursday, April 8, at 9:30 a.m. at the Museum of the Plains, 1200 N. Main.

Library storm shelter open for emergencies

The storm shelter at Perry Memorial Library is again open in case of tornados. Due to the large number of people who come to the shelter, the library is requiring that everyone 10 or older must be wearing a mask when they enter the shelter. No masks will be given — you must bring your own.

Pistol Club sets silhouette match

The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly Silhouette Indoor Match on Sunday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at the Chuck Waller Range at Lake Fryer. Competitors will fire at metal silhouettes of chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams at 40, 60, 77, and 100 meters.

OSWCD sets Appreciation Day

The board of directors of the Ochiltree Soil and Water Conservation District will host their 17th annual Conservation Appreciation Day on Thursday, April 1. A meal will be served from noon to 1 p.m. at the Museum of the Plains.

American Legion to meet April 5

The Harry P. Stumpf American Legion Post 254 will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, April 5, at the Senior Citizen Center. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7 p.m. All veterans are welcome to attend.

Snack Pak 4 Kids to meet April 5

Snack Pak 4 Kids will meet Monday, April 5, at 7 p.m. at the Williams Cafeteria to pack snack bags. Masks will be required, and hand sanitizer will be provided. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 340, Perryton, TX 79070.

FPC sets GED testing dates for April

Frank Phillips College Allen Campus will hold tests for the GED on April 9, 16, 23, and 30. The tests will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can register for the exam at https://ged.com/; the fee for the test is $35. Registration must be completed at least one day before the test is administered.

Rifle Club to hold Steel Challenge Match
