Food manager training set in Pampa

A professional food manager certification training course will be offered May 25 by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Gray County. The program will be at the Gray County Annex, 12125 Frederic St., Pampa. The fee will be $115, and preregistration is due May 21.

Wright to hold Honor Rally May 18 Wright Elementary will hold a year-end honor rally on Tuesday, May 18, at 9 a.m. in the Wright cafetorium. Awards will be presented for perfect attendance, UIL participation, citizenship, music, PE, flag duty, and academics.

Members of the Ochiltree County 4-H archery project held their 2021 County Archery Competition on Tuesday, May 4, at the Expo Center. In the senior division, Tatum Oquin took first place, with Austin Merrick in second. In the intermediate division, Rylan Oquin won first place.

City’s sales tax payment is up over 10% in May

The City of Perryton received some good news with its latest sales tax payment. The May payment was $273,247, up 10.35% from last May. For the year, however, payments are a little over 7% behind 2020, with $1.069 million so far. Most area cities also saw increases in their May payments.

Active COVID-19 cases drop in county

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ochiltree County has fallen late last week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 stand at 16, down from 19 last Tuesday.
