PHS graduation set this Saturday at Ranger Field

The Perryton High School Class of 2021 commencement is set for this Saturday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at Ranger Field. Graduates will be seated on the field and face the home stands. Families and other guests will enter through the east and west ticket gates. The gates will open at 10 a.m.

Morgyn Vela and Pablo Perez were crowned Mr. and Miss PHS during Perryton High School’s Senior Skip Day event on Monday morning. PHS graduation is coming up this Saturday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at Ranger Field.

The Perryton School Board heard a presentation on possibly refinancing bond payments, approved to pave the way for grant funds and dealt with personnel at its meeting Tuesday evening.

Producer and board member Scott McGarraugh has retired from the Texas Wheat Producers Board (TWPB) after 36 years of service. “During my time on the board, we enacted positive change for producers through our work on farm bills, trade and research,” McGarraugh said.

The Top of Texas Silver Star Board presented the Perryton Police Department with an award on Thursday in recognition of outstanding service the department has shown for Perryton’s elderly population and for people with disabilities.
