Baseball clinic scheduled

The Liberal BeeJays, the Perryton Rangers, and the Perryton Activity Center will host a free baseball clinic on Monday-Wednesday, June 21-23, from 2-4 p.m. at Mike Hargrove Field at Perryton Junior High School. Kids in first through eighth grades are invited to participate.

Crisis center resale store limiting donations

The Panhandle Crisis Center’s Resale Store is currently not able to accept clothing donations and is only able to accept two bags or boxes of household or decor donations at a time.

Spring crop acreage can be reported to FSA

Producers who need to report their spring planted crop acreage can contact the Ochiltree County Farm Service Agency for an appointment when you finish planting at 806-435-6597, Ext. 2.

Swimming lessons offered

Swimming lessons will be offered at the Perryton municipal swimming pool on July 12-15 for children ages 4 and older. Lessons will begin at 9 a.m., and the cost is $20 per child. Please call 435-1142 for more information.

Snack Pak 4 Kids sets summer schedule

Snack Pak 4 Kids will distribute snack bags every Thursday in June and July from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Stark Park, Leatherman Park, and Murphy Park. Look for the vehicle with the SP4K sign. Call 806-435-2489 for more information.

Farmers Market open

The Ochiltree County Farmers Market is now open in the parking lot at Perryton National Bank. If you would like to be a participant in this year’s market, please contact Rene Schwalk at 806-202-0049. The market is open to any handmade, homemade, or home grown items.

Library to offer sumer reading club

Perry Memorial Library is sponsoring the 2021 Texas Reading Club this summer. The theme of the club is “Tails and Tales,” and the library will offer many activities to help make reading fun for kids. The programs will begin on June 7 and end June 30.

PARSPA scholarship available

The Perryton Area Retired School Personnel Association (PARSPA) has a scholarship available for any junior or senior in college or post graduate majoring in education and planning to become a teacher. Applications are available now, and the deadline to submit an application is June 30.
