IRS has online tool for child tax credit payments

Fireworks show is set at Wolf Creek Park July 4

The Perryton Lions Club will be hosting its Annual Fourth of July Fireworks at Lake Fryer in Wolf Creek Park on Sunday, July 4. This annual fireworks show by the Lions Club is a long-standing tradition in the community. The display will begin just after dusk, about 9:30-9:45 p.m.

Lifeguards at the Perryton Municipal Water Park were busy last week giving swimming lessons for kids in the area. Students have been learning how to get comfortable in the water, how to stay afloat, and how to swim everything from the crawl to the breaststroke to the backstroke.

Ochiltree County Chief Deputy Wayne Floyd, right, was named Chief Deputy of the Year by the Texas Chief Deputies Association. The award was presented Thursday at the TCDA Training Conference in College Station. He was also sworn in as the organization’s president.

Fallen officers to be honored by End of Watch

Perryton will be getting a visit from an organization dedicated to honoring fallen police officers. Beyond the Call of Duty (End of Watch Ride to Remember) from Spokane, Washington, will be visiting the city on Thursday, June 24, at 12:30 p.m. at Whigham Park.

Active COVID-19 cases in county are back to zero

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ochiltree County has again fallen to zero. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 stands at zero, down from one on Tuesday afternoon.
