Perryton police are investigating some major damage done to two city parks this week. The restrooms at both Leatherman Park and Whigham Park were basically destroyed, costing the city thousands of dollars to repair.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s 2021 Texas Sheep and Goat Expo will run Aug. 20-21 at the First Community Credit Union Spur Arena, 4722 Grape Creek Road in San Angelo. It returns to an inperson format after having to go virtual last year due to the pandemic.

PHS Cheer Squad wins several awards

The Perryton High School Cheer Squad brought home several awards from camp earlier this month. The cheer squad, along with coaches Jennifer Feger and Carrie Grimes attended the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Camp July 13-16 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

Active COVID-19 cases surge to 15

The feared resurgence of COVID-19 cases has arrived in Ochiltree County. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 has rocketed to 15, up from two last Thursday afternoon.
