The young city of Perryton made several big steps forward in the 1930s and one of them was to get paved streets and put the residents “out of the mud.’’
When the Perryton townsite opened in 1919 it was of course laid out on the broad expanse of prairie with streets merely graded strips so people could identify the blocks and locate their lots.
