4-H members compete in recordbook contest

Four Ochiltree 4-H members competed at the Panhandle District 4-H Roundup Recordbook Contests on July 7 in Amarillo. Over 130 4-H members from across the Texas Panhandle submitted recordbooks in over 20 different projects to be evaluated.

City sales tax payment is up 8% for June

For the second month in a row, the City of Perryton’s sales tax payment increased. For July, the city received $199,714, over 8% higher than its payment in July 2020. For the year, the city is slightly behind 2020, 4.5%, with $1.48 million so far.

June weather sees some rain, warm temperatures

The weather in June saw several days of rain, along with many 100 or more degree days, according to official weather records from KEYE. June recorded a total of 1.54 inches of precipitation, on seven days. It began on June 1, with .02 of an inch, followed by .17 of an inch, June 2; .
