Active COVID-19 cases hold steady at 2 in Ochiltree County

Ochiltree County’s active COVID-19 cases remain low, for now, and remain the same as earlier this week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 stands at two, unchanged from Tuesday afternoon.

City council reviews proposed hotel-motel fund allocations

The Perryton City Council reviewed the 2021-22 proposed hotel-motel occupancy tax allocations on Tuesday. The fund received a total of 13 applications, totaling $307,125. A total of $173,000 was available for funding, less the required 10% that must be placed in the fund’s contingency.

Law enforcement officials from around the Panhandle visited Perryton Thursday for a meeting of the Texas Panhandle Peace Officers Association at the Ochiltree County Expo Building. About 50 officers came to Perryton from as far away as Abilene for the bi-monthly meeting.

Texas families have through July 31 to enroll their newborns in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund ® and pay this academic year’s rates for all or some future tuition and schoolwide required fees at Texas public colleges and universities, excluding medical and dental institutions.
