Alleged threat reported

An alleged threat, a dog bite and an obnoxious customer were among the offenses investigated during the week. Police received a report from a truck driver that he had been threatened by a driver brandishing a gun as he attempted to pass the driver.

Expect higher prices, fewer options on Thanksgiving turkeys this year

Consumers can expect higher prices and fewer options for whole turkeys leading into this Thanksgiving, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service expert. Turkey numbers are at their lowest point since 2015.

COVID cases fall in county

Active COVID-19 cases in Ochiltree County have fallen since last week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 have dropped to 61, down from 68 on Friday afternoon.

Commissioners approve resolutions, agreements

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. The commissioners approved an interlocal agreement and resolution between Ochiltree County and the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission regarding 9-1-1 addressing.
