Snack Pak 4 Kids to meet Aug. 30

Snack Pak 4 Kids will meet Monday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Williams Cafeteria to pack snack bags. Masks are optional, and hand sanitizer will be provided. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 340, Perryton, TX 79070.

American Legion to offer drawings

The American Legion Post 254 will hold two drawings at the end of August. The organization will draw for a five-day, four-night stay at KXDJ-1, a cabin owned by KXDJ Radio in Red River, NM. Tickets are $50 each or six for $250. The cabin can host eight people and normally rents for $1,300-$3,000.

Rifle and Pistol Club sets monthly meeting

The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Expo Center. The club will discuss new and ongoing projects. Everyone is welcome to attend, and new memberships and renewals will be available.

Child Find underway

The Perryton ISD is looking for children ages 3-21 years who may be slow in developing communication skills, social interactions, walking skills and or have major physical disabilities.

Special ed records to be destroyed

Perryton Special Education SSA is giving notice to destroy the special education records of students with disabilities (including speech) who graduated or were dismissed from special education in May 2013 and May 2014.

Blood drive set at FPC

Coffee Memorial Blood Center will hold a community blood drive on Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 3-6 p.m. at Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus. Photo identification will be required. Donors must be at least 17 years old, but donors who are 16 may donate with a signed parental consent form.

Jennie June Club sets book sale

The Jennie June Club will hold a book sale at the Perry Memorial Library beginning on Monday, Aug. 16, at noon. Paperbacks will be sold for 50 cents and hardbacks for one dollar.

Crisis center store accepting donations

The Panhandle Crisis Center Resale Store will begin accepting donations on Monday, Aug. 9. They will not accept more than five bags or boxes at a time. Donation drop off times are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Farmers Market open

The Ochiltree County Farmers Market is now open in the parking lot at Perryton National Bank. If you would like to be a participant in this year’s market, please contact Rene Schwalk at 806-202-0049. The market is open to any handmade, homemade, or home grown items.

Crime Stoppers offers shredding service

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers is offering a free document shredding service. A blue bin has been placed in the lobby of the Perryton Police Department for the public to place their documents to be destroyed. A shredding service will pick up the container and dispose of the contents.
