Garrett to speak on Nov. 11

Dr. Shirley Garrett of Villa Rica, GA returns to Perryton as the speaker for Leadership Perryton XX series on Nov. 11 at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and the seminar starts at 6:300 p.m. Her appearance is sponsored by Conoco Phillips and Red’s Pharmacy.

PRE-HOLIDAYS DECORATING

The holidays are getting closer, and many local businesses are working to make sure their stores are decorated for the season.

PHS to host Veterans’ Day ceremony this Thursday

Perryton High School will honor veterans in Perryton and the surrounding area with a special program on Thursday, Nov. 11. Registration and checkin for all veterans will be at 9:30 a.m. on the morning of the program.

CrimeStoppers ‘Fast Cash’

On Nov. 3, 2021, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: Warren McCarty, no personal information was available. Last known address was Amarillo. There is one misdemeanor warrant for McCarty for issuance of bad checks.

Very few offenses reported

It was a light week for crime, with very few offenses reported the past week. Tamara Brown, 309 SE 15th, reported the windshield of her vehicle had been broken out. Police also investigated a report of a counterfeit $100 bill.

Silver-Haired Legislature meets

The Texas Silver-Haired Legislature (TSHL) conducted its second of three sessions for the 2021-2023 biennium recently at the Courtyard Marriott in Pflugerville. Jerome and Bobette Doerrie of Booker represent the 26 counties of the Panhandle and the Amarillo Area Agency on Aging.

Students in Alice Milton’s two-year-old class at Ranger Roundup Learning Center got to spend part of their afternoon creating works of transcendent art — or at least having fun applying colors very enthusiastically to some cartoon pictures.
