COOKING FOR TWO

Ochiltree County 4-H has a new cooking program called “Fun with Food.” The once-a-month program is designed for students of all ages as an introduction to cooking and will run through at least December.

Texas Comptroller’s Office announces changes to the Texas ABLE Program

Comptroller Glenn Hegar has announced enhancements to the Texas Achieving a Better Life Experience (Texas ABLE ® ) Program. Effective Oct. 1, the account maintenance fee is being reduced from $4 per month to $3.

Other dependent tax credits are available

The credit for other dependents is a tax credit available to taxpayers for each of their qualifying dependents who can’t be claimed for the child tax credit. The maximum credit amount is $500 for each dependent who meets certain conditions. These include: —Dependents who are age 17 or older.
