Other dependent tax credits are available

The credit for other dependents is a tax credit available to taxpayers for each of their qualifying dependents who can’t be claimed for the child tax credit. The maximum credit amount is $500 for each dependent who meets certain conditions. These include: —Dependents who are age 17 or older.

PARSPA meeting is Monday The Perryton Area Retired School Personnel Association (PARSPA) will meet Monday, Oct. 4, at the Senior Citizen Center. The meeting will begin at 12 noon but members are encouraged to eat at the center, starting at 11:30 a.m. for $10.

Ochiltree County’s active COVID-19 cases have fallen slightly from midweek. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 have dropped to 54, down from 57 on Tuesday afternoon.

In one of their most impressive and exciting games, the Rangers battled Pampa all night, with the offense and defense making big plays throughout the evening. A Pampa field goal with 30 seconds in the game gave the Harvesters a slim 44-41 victory.

County accepts clerk’s resignation

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met Friday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse for a special meeting. The commissioners received and accepted a letter of resignation from County Clerk Jeri Ann McGarraugh Woelfle, effective Oct. 15.
