Ochiltree County 4-H’s Clover Club — for kids in kindergarten through second grade — got together this week to make their own Halloween treat bags using everything from crayons and markers to glitter and pipe cleaners.

Texans will vote on Tuesday, Nov. 2, to decide the fate of the proposed amendments. Early voting will be held from Oct. 18-29. On Election day, polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Following is an analysis of the final four, of eight, proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

Tracy Stock of Charlotte, NC, was the latest speaker in the Leadership Perryton series. She spoke on “One Choice Rule” at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus on Thursday evening. The seminar was sponsored by Courson Gas Consultants.

United Way drive off to good start

After the first week of its 2022 fund-raising campaign, the Ochiltree United Way is already at 25% of its $92,000 goal. By Thursday, the drive had received $22,539 in donations. There are also seven 100% Companies on the list so far, meaning every employee contributed to United Way.

Stock to speak here Thursday Tracy Stock of Charlotte, NC will speak in Perryton, as part of the Leadership Perryton series, this Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration will be at 6 p.m., with the seminar to start at 6:30 p.m.

Home invasion investigated

A home invasion and another burglary were investigated by police. A woman in the 200 block of Eton called police after two armed intruders broke into her home. The victim said she had just finished taking a shower when she heard a loud noise.

Flag lady

In Philadelphia, only the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall draw more visitors than the home of adored American flag-maker and seamstress Betsy Ross.
