Book fair set at Perryton Kinder Perryton Kinder will hold a book fair on Nov. 8-12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kinder building. The school will also have a family night on Thursday, Nov. 11 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Active COVID-19 cases fall again

Active COVID-19 cases have again fallen lower in Ochiltree County. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 have dropped to 40, down from 45 on Tuesday afternoon.

Wreaths Across America to honor veterans Dec. 18

For the seventh year, Ochiltree County will participate in the nationwide “Wreaths Across America” ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at Ochiltree Cemetery. The event is sponsored by the Wolf Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Coats for Kids underway

FirstBank Southwest is kicking off its 21st year of sponsoring a community project geared toward children during the Christmas holidays. This year, the bank will again sponsor its “Coats and Shoes for Kids” drive in November and early December. Coats and Shoes for Kids began in the fall of 2001.

Garrett to speak on Nov. 11

Dr. Shirley Garrett of Villa Rica, GA returns to Perryton as the speaker for Leadership Perryton XX series on Nov. 11 at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and the seminar starts at 6:300 p.m. Her appearance is sponsored by Conoco Phillips and Red’s Pharmacy.

On Nov. 3, 2021, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: Warren McCarty, no personal information was available. Last known address was Amarillo. There is one misdemeanor warrant for McCarty for issuance of bad checks. Victor Messner, Jr.
