On Oct. 20, 2021, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: Ivan Jaquez, no personal information was available. Last known address was Turpin, OK. There is one misdemeanor warrant for Jaquez for issuance of bad checks.

HARTSFIELD NAMED KIWANIAN OF THE YEAR—The Perryton Kiwanis Club held its annual awards and installation banquet recentlyth. Hunter Hartsfield was named as the Kiwanian of the Year by the club, citing long years of service to the club and community.

Burglary reported

A burglary and a shoplifter were investigated by police during the week. Majestic Vape, 12 SE Eighth, reported a burglary at the business. Around $400 worth of vaping items were stolen. Family Dollar reported around $225 worth items of merchandise had been stolen. There is a suspect in the case.

American Legion to hold monthly meeting The American Legion Post 254 will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 1, at the Senior Citizen Center. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting itself will begin at 7 p.m. All veterans are welcome to attend.

The Rangers, after a big win over Levelland last Friday, will host the Lubbock Estacado Matadors this week. Game time is 7 p.m. The other district matchup will be Borger and Seminole.

Three new deaths in county attributed to COVID-19

Three new fatalities from the COVID-19 virus have been added to the rolls in Ochiltree County, bringing the county’s total to 36 deaths. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the newest fatalities occurred around the dates of October 7, 9, and 14.

Accident claims life

An accident early Tuesday morning claimed the life of one man. According to Police Chief Mike Smith, around 7 a.m., law enforcement and medical personnel responded to a major traffic accident west of Perryton on Highway 15 and Loop 143.
