Commissioners approve new watch tour system for jail

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday, Nov. 22, at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Sheriff Terry Bouchard and Jail Captain Tom Morris spoke with the commissioners about a new watch tour system for the county’s Law Enforcement Center.

Barnes to speak Dec. 2

Kelly Barnes of Choctaw, OK, will be the next featured speaker in the Leadership Perryton series. He will give a session, “Make It A Habit,” on Thursday, Dec. 2, at Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration begins at 6 p.m., and the seminar starts at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend.

THE BAKED GOODS ARE VERY GOOD

The Perryton Satellite Center’s annual Arts & Crafts Festival was held last weekend at the Ochiltree County Expo Center. Vendors and shoppers came from all over the region to sell specially-made gifts, crafts, artwork, and food to local craft lovers and early Christmas shoppers.

MESSIAH SOLOISTS

The annual community performance of George Frederic Handel’s “The Messiah” will make its triumphant return on Sunday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Perryton.

American Legion to hold monthly meeting The American Legion Post 254 will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 6, at the Senior Citizen Center. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting itself will begin at 7 p.m. All veterans are welcome to attend.

Information needed on broken window

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers needs information this week to solve a case involving damage. On Nov. 15, it was reported tot he police department that a glass window was broken out in a residence in the 100 block of North Indiana. Damage was estimated at $100.

Perryton produces great kids. While genetics arguably play the most important role in these kids, growing up in Perryton also played a role in their foundation and success. Few kids are more representative than that then are the Noggle kids. They are superb.
