Local businesses set New Year’s closings and hours

The end of 2021 is almost upon us, and many Perryton businesses, organizations, and governmental offices will be closed to let their employees celebrate the New Year’s holiday. Frank Phillips College, Allen Campus is closed for their holiday break and will remain closed ‘til January 10, 2022.

County receives 2021 audit

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. The primary item on the commissioners’ agenda was the county’s audit report for fiscal year 2021 from Doshier, Pickens & Francis, LLC, an accountancy firm from Amarillo.

DPS encourages safe driving for the Christmas New Year’sholidays

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is encouraging everyone to end 2021 safely as they head out on the road for the holidays.

COVID cases up slightly in county

Active cases of COVID-19 in Ochiltree County have risen slightly this week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 rose to 37, up from 35 last Thursday afternoon.

Damage investigated

A couple of cases of criminal mischief were investigated by police during the week. The front living room window of a residence at 722 SW 17th was broken out by an object thrown through the window. Damage was estimated at $250.
