High winds cause vehicle and building damage

High winds blasted Ochiltree County for most of Wednesday, causing building damage, turning over trucks, and knocking down power lines. According to David Schwalk at KEYE Radio, sustained wind speeds on Wednesday measured about 30-40 miles per hour, with wind gusts up to 69 miles per hour.

United Way drive now at 88%

The Ochiltree United Way’s 2022 fund drive inched toward its $92,000 goal by the end of the week, and is now at 88% of its $92,000 goal. The drive has raised $81,123 so far, which is allocated among 12 non-profit agencies. One new 100% Companies was added, Window Fashions Etc.

LIGHTING UP THE NIGHT

As Christmas grows nearer, more local residents are decorating their homes to celebrate the season, including Keith and Lorena Potts, whose home at 2110 Sequoia in Perryton is lit up in an explosion of red and white lights on their house and trees.
