Active COVID-19 cases jump again

Active cases of COVID-19 in Ochiltree County have risen again. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Ochiltree County’s estimated active cases of COVID-19 rose to 51, up from 44 on Tuesday afternoon.

Toys For Tots volunteers were hard at work last week getting toys ready for distribution. The annual tradition focuses on making sure that less fortunate children in Ochiltree, Hansford, and Lipscomb Counties are able to get toys and gifts for the holiday season.

City sales tax payment up 16%

The City of Perryton’s sales tax payment for December showed a healthy gain over last year. The city received a payment of $228,765, which is 16% higher than December 2020. For the year, the city is in the black, with $2.7 million, up 1% from 2020.
