The IRS reminds taxpayers there are things they should do before the current tax year ends on Dec.31. Donate to charity Taxpayers may be able to deduct donations to tax-exempt organizations on their tax return. As people are deciding where to make their donations, the IRS has a tool that may help.

The Texas Tuition Promise Fund is offering a series of webinars to provide an overview of the state’s prepaid college tuition plan. In addition, the webinars will explain scholarship opportunities that are available.

The deadliest mushroom is the Amanita phalloides, the death cap. The five different poisons contained in the mushroom cause diarrhea and vomiting within six to 12 hours after ingestion.

One more files for county clerk

One new candidate has filed for the 2022 Republican Primary Election for the position of Ochiltree County Clerk. Since the Herald’s last story, Stacey Brown has thrown her hat into the ring for the county clerk position. Brown was previously elected to the office in 2010 and served two terms.
