COVID-19 cases in county are down

Ochiltree General Hospital has reported a slight drop in COVID-19 cases in the county. According to Chief Nursing Officer Jyme Kinnard, RN, OGH completed 57 total COVID-19 tests in the last seven days, with only six of those tests turning out positive.

Limas wins primary election

A total of 1,113 Ochiltree County residents turned out to vote in the March 1 primary elections. That included 1,085 in the Republican primary and 28 in the Democratic primary. The only locally contested race was in the Republican primary for County Clerk.

Commissioners approve burn ban

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday, Feb. 28, at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners approved a burn ban for the county.

Information needed on stolen pickup

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers needs information this week to solve a stolen vehicle case. On Feb. 19, a 1977 faded blue flat bed Chevrolet Pickup with a diesel Cummins engine was stolen from a residence in the 1200 block of South Amherst. The pickup is valued at $5,000.
