Tips still needed on stolen pickup

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers is still asking for information to solve a stolen vehicle case. On Feb. 19, a 1977 faded blue flat bed Chevrolet Pickup with a diesel Cummins engine was stolen from a residence in the 1200 block of South Amherst. The pickup is valued at $5,000.

When we left off at our last article, Emma Rogers has just moved to Lubbock after graduating from Perryton High School. She did not get back to Perryton for a long time due to the war. Gas and tires were rationed so people were not on the highways very much.

City’s sales tax payment is up 30% in March

The City of Perryton has another large increase in their sales tax payment. The city received a check for $237,115 in March, an increase of about 31% from March 2021. For the year so far, it has received $856,595, up 37% from 2021.

COVID-19 cases up

The Texas Department of State Health Services is recording an increase in COVID-19 cases in Ochiltree County. According to data from TDSHS, the county has had 130 new cases of the virus in the last 14 days, an increase of 141% over the prior 14 days.
