OGH shows tiny increase in COVID-19 cases

Ochiltree General Hospital has reported a very small increase in new COVID-19 cases this week – from zero cases to one. According to Chief Nursing Officer Jyme Kinnard, RN, OGH completed 33 total COVID-19 tests in the last seven days, with only a single positive case.

The Perryton Kiwanis Club held its 38th annual auction fund-raiser Saturday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at the Ochiltree County Expo Center. This year’s auction was expected to include cars, pickups, workshop equipment, furniture, tool sets, welders, food baskets, gift certificates, and much more.

Rain brings much needed moisture

Perryton and Ochiltree County haven’t had any significant precipitation since last October, so the short shower the county got on Thursday night was welcomed, even if it didn’t bring a lot of rain. KEYE Radio’s official rainfall total was .17 of an inch of precipitation.

The City of Perryton offered a lifeguard class for students during Spring Break, allowing students to learn how to safely rescue swimmers in distress in swimming pools and how to perform CPR.

PHS track hosts meet

The Perryton High School track teams hosted the Perryton Invitational last week. The meet was held earlier than scheduled in the week to beat the incoming inclement weather. Both Dumas High School teams took the titles at the meet. The Demons won with 201 points, with Perryton second at 115.
