Kinder enrollment set for April 28 Enrollment at Perryton Kinder is scheduled for Thursday, April 28, from 1-3 p.m. at the Perryton ISD administration building at 821 SW 17th Avenue. Children must be five years old by Sept. 1 to enroll. You can complete enrollment online at www.perrytonisd.org.

Sales Tax Holiday for emergency supplies set

As we enter severe weather season, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reminds Texans they can purchase certain items tax-free during the state’s sales tax holiday for emergency preparation supplies, which begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, and ends at midnight on Monday, April 25.

The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce and the Retail Trade Association held their EGG-streme Easter Night in downtown Perryton on Thursday evening, bringing in plenty of kids eager to have a chat with the Easter Bunny.

Ochiltree County’s COVID-19 numbers remain low

Ochiltree County’s case counts for COVID-19 are continuing to fall. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the county has had only one new case of the virus in the last 14 days, a decrease of 98% over the prior 14 days.

On April 13, 2022, the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department had outstanding warrants on the following people: Tyler Vance Britton, white male. Date of birth, Jan. 6, 1986. Height, 5’11”, weight, 155 pounds. Blue eyes, brown hair. Last known address was Perryton.

Few offenses reported

It was another quiet week for law enforcement, with just a handful of offenses reported. There were two incidents of stolen license plates reported, along with a dog bite case.
