Girl Scouts plan scavenger hunt Girl Scout Troop 5185 will hold a scavenger hunt on Tuesday, May 10, from 5-6 p.m. at the Museum of the Plains. Kids can win prizes and bring home a patch. Parents and prospective Girl Scouts are encouraged to attend.

Information needed on vehicle burglary

Perryton-Ochiltree County Crime Stoppers needs information this week to solve a vehicle burglary. On or around April 25, a vehicle was burglarized in the 100 block of SW 15th. Taken from the vehicle was a white box containing 25 Norriseal Wellmark Mizer valves. Estimated value is $7,000.

Perryton residents visited the downtown area on Thursday evening to enjoy the Viva la Fiesta event, sponsored by the Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s own booth invited visitors to judge a variety of homemade salsas for their salsa contest.

Ochiltree County completed construction on a new gazebo at the Ochiltree County Cemetery last week. The old gazebo, built with money donated by Larry McLain, was torn down earlier this year, and funds for a new gazebo were donated by Randy and Janice McLain and by J.W.

County’s COVID cases remain low

There are still very few cases of COVID-19 in Ochiltree County this week. According to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the county has had only two new cases of the virus in the last 14 days, a decrease of 33% over the prior 14 days.
