City’s sales tax payment is up 14% in August

The City of Perryton saw another healthy increase in its sales tax allocation this month. The August payment was up almost 14% for the month. For the year so far, it is up 24% over 2021 payments, with $2.188 million received.

Perryton schools start the new school year this Wednesday, Aug. 17, and Perryton Independent School District teachers spent last week attending meetings, compiling lesson plans, and getting their classrooms in shape for new students.

Teachers began work Aug. 8 as they prepare for the new school year, and the first day of classes is set for Wednesday, Aug. 17.
