City’s sales tax payment up again in September

The City of Perryton saw another nice increase in its monthly sales tax payment. For September, the city received $250,614, which is over 11% higher than September 2021. For the year so far, it has received $2.44 million, up 22.5% from 2021.

The library at Wright Elementary and Williams Intermediate has acquired a book vending machine. The books inside can’t be bought for money, but students are able to earn points to be used to get books from the machine.

It was a fairly quiet week for criminal activity. A residence at 902 S. Harvard had the house and vehicles egged, and the culprits also broke off a sprinkler head. Damage was estimated at $160. In county jail activity: Jaycee Marroquin, 45, was arrested on a felony parole warrant.
