State’s newest historic site

The Texas Historical Commission’s latest historicsiteis 274 years old. Presidio la Bahia was the site of the Goliad Massacre in March 1836. More than 300 Texians were held inside the church before being executed by Mexican forces.

NPEC to hold Youth Tour contest

North Plains Electric Cooperative will hold a Youth Tour contest for high school juniors and seniors in February. The two winners will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC June 11-20.

The Eta Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Women Educators Society recently celebrated its 60th birthday. The organization includes key women educators who are currently teaching or have retired from education. The Eta Alpha Chapter was formed with 21 charter members and now has 35 current members.
