Rifle and Pistol Club to meet The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Expo Center. The club will discuss new and ongoing projects. All are welcome — new memberships and renewals will be available.

Counterfeit bill reported

A counterfeit bill and a case of criminal mischief were among the incidents investigated by police during the week. A shopper attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill at United Supermarket. The shopper was unaware it was counterfeit and said her husband had received as payment for work.

Council election draws three

So far, the Perryton City Council election is the only one drawing candidates with the filing period underway. Two of the three incumbents, Shae Cunningham and Brad Kile, have filed for another term. Also filing for the council is Veronica Herrera. The other term is currently held by Marcia Hale.

Tracy Stock of Charlotte, NC will return as a Leadership Perryton series speaker on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration will be from 6-6:30 p.m., with the seminar to begin at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend.
