Rifle and Pistol Club sets annual meeting The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The club will elect new officers for the year, as well as discuss new and ongoing projects.

The late Charles Uxer, longtime school superintendent and for several years director of the El Paso Educational Service Center, enjoyed visiting elementary classrooms. That’s where he heard the most far-out questions. One long ago day, he visited a second-grade classroom.

Burglary, vandalism are investigated

A burglary and vandalized Christmas decorations were reported during the week. Several tools were stolen from a trailer house at 200 N. Indiana, which was being renovated.

COVID cases rise slightly

RETIREMENT RECEPTION HELD FOR BLASINGAME— Interstate Bank held a reception last Thursday to commemorate the retirement of market president Mike Blasingame. Blasingame worked at the bank for 20 years and held the positions of executive vice president, senior vice president, commercial and ag lender, chief lending officer, as well as serving as a member of the bank’s board of directors. His retirement will be effective on Dec. 31.
