Friendshp Quilt Guild has Christmas party

The Friendship Quilt Guild met Dec. 14 for a Christmas party and potluck lunch. The group also enjoyed a game of “Dirty Santa.” During the business meeting, thank you notes were read from the Santa Train project and recipients of Quilts of Valor.

Candidate filing opens Jan. 18 for city, school board offices

Candidate filing opens soon for positions on the Perryton School Board and Perryton City Council. The first day to file for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, Jan. 18. The filing period will run through Friday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m. There are three position up for election on the city council.

Ramsey to kick off new year with leadership seminar

Courtney Ramsey of Dallas will be the next speaker in the Leadership Perryton series. She will be in Perryton on Tuesday, Jan. 17, with a session on “The Power of Emotional Intelligence,” at the Frank Phillips College Allen Campus. Registration is at 6 p.m., with the program to start at 6:30 p.m.

Nominations sought for Citizen of Year

The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2023 Citizen of the Year award, which will be presented at the Chamber’s annual banquet, through Friday, Jan. 13 at 5 p.m. The Citizen of the Year will be selected by a committee of past recipients.
