County revises rules of procedure

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. The commissioners approved a revision of their Rules of Procedure for meetings, recommended by the Texas Association of Counties.
Ochiltree County’s first baby of 2023 was last week at Ochiltree General Hospital. Abraham Gaytan was born on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 12:11 a.m. His parents are Jose Alberto Gaytan and Nancy Carrillo, and he was delivered by Dr. Blake DeWitt. Abraham weighed nine pounds, three ounces and measured 22 inches. Rifle and Pistol Club sets annual meeting The Perryton Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. at the indoor range south of the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The club will elect new officers for the year, as well as discuss new and ongoing projects.
RETIREMENT RECEPTION HELD FOR COUNTY AUDITORS— Ochiltree County held a reception last week to commemorate the retirements of County Auditor Jim Dear and Deputy County Auditor Joyce Meyer. Dear had been County Auditor for 15 years, while Meyer had been the Deputy County Auditor for 17 years. The new County Auditor, sworn in at the beginning of January, is Lynn French.
