Willis foundation supports continuing education at OGH

Ochiltree General Hospital was the recipient of an annual grant from the Dean Allen Willis Foundation. The foundation supports continuing education for Ochiltree General Hospital doctors and nurses in the areas of trauma, emergency, and critical care.

Local 4-H members compete at Fort Worth, San Angelo stock shows

Ochiltree County 4-H members have been busy competing in stock shows in Fort Worth and San Angelo. Five local 4-H students competed recently at the Fort Worth Livestock Show. All of them placed with their entries.

It was so much fun dressing up in the red cloak, even though I was murdered….by my husband! Perry really believed it was a set up, but not so. All 20 characters drew a number fair and square. We should have guessed it was him from the get go. He is the only one that had true motive to kill me.

PHS students compete at FCCLA contest

Perryton High School’s chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended Region 1 STAR at the 4A level in Lubbock this month, with several advancing to state.

Annual Chamber banquet is Thursday at Expo

The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce will host its annual banquet and silent auction this Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Ochiltree County Expo Center. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for patrons to bid on numerous silent auction items. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.

TESTING SKILLS IN SNACK ASSEMBLY

Perryton High School’s chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended Region 1 STAR at the 4A level in Lubbock earlier this month. The Perryton chapter was recognized for the most members competing at the competition and for having the most participation in the Family and Consumer Sciences Assessments. PHS had 19 members complete Power Of One Individual Units of Study, with two completing all five units. See story for more information.
