School may be out for the summer, but Snack Pak 4 Kids is still working hard to make sure kids get delicious and nutritious snacks. This has been especially important in the aftermath of the catastrophic tornado that blasted through Perryton on June 15.

It’s a difficult time for Perryton and Ochiltree County, but some traditions are too good to pass up. That’s why the Perryton Lions Club will again be hosting its Annual Fourth of July Fireworks at Lake Fryer in Wolf Creek Park on Tuesday, July 4.

Chamber cancels Oil Patch Tourney The Perryton-Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce has decided to cancel the Oil Patch Golf Tournament, scheduled for July.
DRIVE-UP BANK DEMOLISHED – The FirstBank Southwest main bank and drive-up location were damaged by the storm and rendering them unusable. FBSW has set up a mobile banking unit in Perryton starting June 23, with doors open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located in the Walls parking lot behind Whigham Park on Ash Street. Along with personal bankers and tellers located inside, there is a drive-through for convenience on the west side of the building from north to south.

City council approves City Hall relocation to 417 S. Amherst

The Perryton City Council held an emergency meeting Wednesday at the Ochiltree County Law Enforcement Center. The disaster declaration for the city was extended 60 days. The original declaration was only good for seven days.

Storms bring more rain to county

In addition to the catastrophic tornado that hit Perryton last Thursday, another thunderstorm blew through Ochiltree County on Saturday evening, followed by yet another on Thursday evening. All storms brought additional rainfall to county residents.

Right now, there are a lot of people who need help. And luckily, there are also a lot of people who are eager to help. Here are some of resources available to those affected by last week’s tornado. The City of Perryton’s utility billing and engineering departments have relocated to 417 S. Amherst.
