Jennie June Club begins its new year on Sept. 13

The Jennie June Club met Sept. 13 at the Senior Citizen Center. The blessing was given by president Barbara Johnson, and members enjoyed visiting with one another over lunch. Johnson conducted the business meeting, which opened for the reading of the collect.

On Saturday, Aug. 19, thousands of Ochiltree County residents turned out to watch the Wheatheart of the Nation Celebration parade. The winner of the Small Band category was the Booker High School Band.

DAR celebrates Constitution Week

At the request of the Wolf Creek Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Perryton Mayor Kerry Symons signed a proclamation designating the week of Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week.

Work crews from the City of Perryton’s Streets department were out repairing the road on Monday morning at SW 4th Avenue. The road repairs were needed because a gas valve had been replaced at that location.

More storms bring more rain to county
