Commissioners hear cemetery concerns from DAR members

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse. Members of the Wolf Creek Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met with the commissioners to discuss conditions at the Ochiltree County Cemetery.

Arts & Crafts Festival is this weekend at Expo Center

The Perryton Satellite Center’s Arts & Crafts Festival will be held this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18-19, at the Expo Center. It is the 53rd year for the event. The hours are Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

City sales tax payment up 14%

The City of Perryton’s November sales tax payment saw a big 14.6% increase over last November, with the city receiving $315,858. For the year so far, the city has received $2.9 million, which is a little over 3% less than 2022.

United Way drive up to 55% of goal

The Ochiltree United Way’s 2024 fund drive continued to gather steam this week. As of Tuesday, the campaign had raised $51,608, which is 55% of the $94,300 goal. Four new 100% Companies also joined the list, bringing the total to seven.
Perryton High School’s annual Veterans Day program brought together veterans from recent campaigns in the Middle East all the way back to World War II. In addition to presentations recognizing every veteran attendee, there were also musical performances and a special presentation by guest speaker Ben Malone.
