Tori Little has been chosen as the Young Careerist of the Month by the Panhandle Professional Women’s Club.
Little is currently Perryton High School principal. She would consider her present employment her profession, noting “After 23 years in the field, I certainly hope so.
The Ochiltree County jail has been busy the past two weeks: Raymond A. Martinez, 28, was arrested on fourth degree felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, less than one gram and delivery of marijuana, over one-quarter ounce but less than five pounds.
The Ochiltree United Way will kick off its 2024 fund drive Nov. 1.
The drive is beginning about a month later than usual this year.
The goal for this year’s fund drive is $94,300, which was allocated among nine agencies, which is the same as in 2023.
Ochiltree County 4-H presented its annual awards celebration at the Ochiltree County Expo Center on Monday, Oct. 9.

The Gold Star Award is the highest county award available to 4-H members.

The Ochiltree County Commissioners’ Court met on Monday morning at the Ochiltree County Courthouse.
Among other items on the agenda, the commissioners approved a plan to preserve old record books in the offices of the County Clerk, District Clerk, and Justice of the Peace.

The Perryton Area Parkinson’s Disease Support Group will meet on Friday, Oct. 1,3 at New Hope Fellowship, 2821 S. Ash in Perryton. Lunch will be provided. Jo Bidwell from Southwest Parkinson Society in Lubbock will present the program.
